ArcheOS is the acronym of Archeological Operating System. It is a GNU/Linux live distribution built for archaeological aims and based on Kubuntu v. 7.10. Here you can download the .iso image. To run ArcheOS, you have to burn a DVD with the .iso image and put it inside your DVD reader. Then restart the computer. It is also possible to install ArcheOs on your hardisk (click on the install ArcheOS icon). ArcheOS is developed following the OpArc project guidelines and it is released by Arc-Team s.n.c. under the General Public License (GPL).

Database PostgreSQL - PostGIS 8.1 PostgreSQL is a fully featured object-relational database management system. PHPPgAdmin 4.1.2 phpPgAdmin is intended to handle the administration of PostgreSQL over the WWW. GIS GRASS 6.2.3 Geographic Resources Analysis Support System. Commonly referred to as GRASS, this is a Geographic Information System (GIS) used for geospatial data management and analysis, image processing, graphics/map production, spatial modeling, and visualization. Saga 2.0b SAGA – System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses- is a hybrid GIS software. GPS GPSDrive 2.09 GpsDrive is a car (bike, ship, plane) navigation system. GpsDrive displays your position provided from your NMEA capable GPS receiver on a zoomable map, the map file is autoselected depending of the position and preferred scale. Speech output is supported if the “festival” software is running. The maps are autoselected for best resolution depending of your position. Graphic (3D) Blender 2.44 Blender is an integrated 3d suite for modelling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback (games). Blender has its own particular user interface, which is implemented entirely in OpenGL and designed with speed in mind. Python bindings are available for scripting; import/export features for popular file formats like 3D Studio and Wavefront Obj are implemented as scripts by the community. GwenView 1.4.1 Gwenview is an image viewer for the K Desktop Environment. It features a folder tree window and a file list window to provide easy navigation of your file hierarchy. Graphic (vector) Inkscape 0.45 Inkscape loads and saves a subset of the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format, a standard maintained by the WWW consortium. Inkscape user interface should be familiar from CorelDraw and similar drawing programs. There are rectangles, ellipses, text items, bitmap images and freehand curves.
